Local MP welcomes new hospital plans

MP for Halesowen and Rowley Regis has welcomed the Government’s decision to approve plans for a brand new hospital in Sandwell.

The scheme is one of the UK’s flagship developments that will see a new hospital in Smethwick and a range of community hospitals and health centres across the local area.

The new hospital will include the latest technologies, modern operating theatres and ward layouts with 50% single rooms in line what patients and local people have said they prefer.

Sylvia Heal MP said: “I am really pleased the Government have given the go ahead to the new Sandwell and West Birmingham hospital development. The new healthcare facilities will make a real difference to local people and the construction will also hopefully have a positive effect on local employment as building gets underway.”
